Kicked off the 2008 race season today with the WORS race down in Lake Geneva, WI. It's been over 5 months since I raced last and the first few hills off the start line were a brutal wake up to the legs as they instantly were on fire and my lungs felt like they were going to explode. By the end of lap one I could taste that nasty flavor of lung blood from expanding them more than they have been all year. It took about 30 minutes to get use to the effort and I started feeling better later the race.
It was fun to be at the races again and see everyone again. Big thanks to Planet Bike and GT for everything this season - the bikes and support are great and standing on the podium after the first race was great motivation for the coming season
