Today's Backdrop

I've finally spent enough time in Boulder to get a decent ride in on the real back roads and have somewhat of a feeling of knowing where I am most of the time, or at least which way to point to get back. I guess that's easy really, downhill.
It's been pretty quiet here the last few days with the college kids on spring break and all the mountain bikers down in Phoenix at the first NORBA. I looks like everyone flatted at least once, I heard you had to stand in line to DNF! I think the DNF list was longer than the entrants list to last years Fontana race.
I spent the weekend cracking the whip on myself and today was toughest yet this year with almost 2.5 hours and nearly 6,000ft of climbing. I'm really looking forward to the next few days of well deserved rest.
Next time I'm taking the camelback along, there's not too many places to stop for water out there.

When are you going to start racing?

I already did start - Gravel Rouser Classic, Athens, OH.
When will I race again, NORBA #2 in California but possibly sooner at the Sea Otter if I feel ready. No need to burn matches too soon, it was, and will be a long season.
