One More Day Of Base

As I mentioned in my last post I was going to work on the wheelie Friday, I did, sometimes it was good, sometimes it was bad. I don't know what it is but sometimes I get 20 pedal strokes and then I must try to hard and get 2.
Anyway, I did get out on the Fuel with 1.5" slicks and it was fast. Riding a mountain bike with slicks is sick, it feels like the tires have little claws that come out and grab the road when you go around corners, I can't wait to try these things on the Laguna Seca tarmac next week, talk about "backing it in"!

This morning I was up bright and early, got some tempo riding in and decided it was too cold and grey to finish the ride by myself so I hooked up with the usual Saturday morning group. They got it going pretty good a couple times and in the crosswinds my legs were pinging while trying to hold a wheel, but it was fun to go 24mph with a group instead of the 17mph I've been going by myself. Sea Otter isn't that far off either, I have a bad feeling they're going to pop the gun and everyone is going to be going race24mph and my legs are still going to be going base17. Ah, but it's got to happen sooner or later so it might as well be Saturday morning or out in Monterey.

Sitt'n in a good spot!
Only one more day of base!
