Gearworks Bay state CX - Sterling, MA - 4th

Getting better, I hope. Today's race was good. 3" of packed snow and ice with NO mud. I was pretty happy about the mud but a little scared of crashing on an ice-slicked corner. As each race went during the day the corners got packed harder making them trecherous.
I had an OK start, sitting behind McCormick for the first 2 laps until I finally fell off as Tim Johnson drove the pace. I was riding in the 2nd group fine but slid out sideways on an off camber hill and cought some tape in my wheels forcing me to dismount and pull it out. I had a hard time getting rolling again and soon found myself in 9th place and I was really mad about it because I knew I was better.
Eventually I found my groove and shortly I started picking off people. My legs came around and started firing on all cylinders and I was getting comfortable pointing my bike insteading of steering it. I slowly worked my way up to the FiordaFruitta boys and sat on a lap to recover.
With 2 to go I drove the group and forced a small gap on the run-up and then road perfectly throught the technical sections to open the gap up even more. That was that, I was able to hold it to the finish for my best UCI result to date.
Hopefully I can get some pictures of the snow up soon.

Results might or might not be true.

2.Mark McCormick
3. Jesse Anthony
4.Tristan Schouten
5.
