The 3 day race weekend in Cincinnati was great last weekend. I did the first races there in 2006, they have changed a lot since then, but in a good way with way more attendance and organization. I skipped racing Friday, it was just too much on myself after flying back from Gloucester on Monday, then working a 9 hour shift in the afternoon making an almost 24 hour day. Then it was another late night at work Thursday night with an early departure (3:20am) to get to Cinci in time to race on Friday for the other guys. I decided my candle is already burning at both ends and that could probably get the fire burning in the middle too so I opted to just race 2 days of the weekend and try not to completely shatter myself.

Sunday was a dificult race and although I felt ok, I never felt great, or maybe even that good, but once again I did manage to make the 2nd group which eventually lost some riders off the back leaving me fighting for 5th. I then forgot where the finish line was and never even sprinted for it but ended up last in the group for 7th. Not a horrible result, but that great either.
Anyway, this week I am starting a new job and trying to prepare for USGP in Kentucky this weekend. It's a bit of a stressful week changing jobs in the middle of the season, but it was either do it now, or suffer 12 hour shifts at the old place and I wasn't about to put myself through that. In the long run it will be better, I just wish it didn't have to happen while trying to focus on cross racing.
Hopefully I'll have time to update from Louisville after the races. I'd like to maintain my top 5 placing but that will be hard. Hopefully I'm recovered and focused enough to do that.
