Trek Goes 1,1,2,3 and Takes 5th Straight Win at Sheboygan

For the 7th year in a row, a Trek Fuel has won the Sheboygan WORS race and taken home the big check. Trek also went 1st, 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the day as Sarah won the womans and Doug the mens with me in for 3rd. Brian Matter (2nd, also riding a Trek Fuel) almost put an end to the Trek Midwest team domination of this race the last four years, but unfortunately couldn't hold off Doug due to late lap cramping and team Trek was able to come home with the big prize once again for the 5th year in a row!!
It was an extremely hard fought battle on a very technical and fast course. Midway through the race, while putting in a hard effort, Jesse Lalonde flatted taking him out of the race while the group was being shredded down to 4. With 2 laps to go, Cole House and Brian Matter got the gap that immediately went over a minute as I cracked and Doug suffered. Start of the final lap Doug dropped me as he kept the pace high and I went into survival mode. Eventually Doug would catch Brian 200 yards before the finish as Brian pedaled one legged due to severe cramping from the equalizer climb. I held off the late charging Marko Lalonde to roll in for 3rd, about a 1.20 down on the leaders and quite happy to have battled it out at the front as the race went down.
