NC Gran Prix Day 2

What a difference a day makes. Today was one of those "good" days that really felt good. I still don't understand what happens between day 1 and day 2, why I go to bed feeling like I got hit by a train, and the next day still feel the effects of the train hit, but for some reason feel awesome when the race gets going.
Once again Matt White (Fior de Fruity) made a great move at the start and gapped the field when no one would chase. I felt great, if I had been on his wheel I could have gone with him, but I was too far back and to try and bridge would have brought up the whole group. I decided to wait and sat on the group to see what would happen next. Charlie Storm drove the pace for about 2 laps and slowly dropped riders off the back until is was down to 4 or 5 of us. Michael Cody pedaled off the front shortly after but never got far so I waited until I could make it hurt and then jumped the group super hard. I bridged to Cody and kept the pressure on until the group behind had exploded and I was sure we were away.
At this point I found myself in a somewhat tricky predicament. Cody wasn't going to chase his teammate, but I needed help to stay away and didn't want to do all the work myself since Cody would jump me if I did and take 2nd behind his teammate. It was a tricky situation until Cody pulled the last lap and allowed me to plan the attack for 2nd. I jumped him before the last climb and held it to the finish which I'm pretty happy about.
When I figure out how to feel fast on both days I'll let ya know.
