Winter Wonderland

I woke up this morning to about 4" of snow and it's not even close to being done yet. They're calling for 6-10" in Hartford near where I am but as you can see from the radar, Providence is getting a wintry "mixture". They were saying 1-3" of snow with it turning to rain by afternoon so I decided it was pointless to drive there today to preride since that would only serve to destroy my bikes. Plus, they'll have to change the lines overnight from the races today tearing it up so it will be different tomorrow anyway. I also don't want to end up in the ditch so today I'll warm up on the trainer and head over tomorrow morning when everything has cleared up. Hopefully all you Wisconsin guys flew in yesterday because I bet Boston Logan is getting hammered right now.

I read the racers bible last night and the course sounds pretty hard. The only thing that didn't sound so cool was that they said it was a longer course to keep people from getting lapped. I hope it's not too long because they are expecting a huge crowd and it would be nice for them to see the race, but I'm sure they've thought of that and the course we raced on two weeks ago was designed by the same guy and it was really good. They're actually charging admission to watch the race from the infield which is pretty cool, I think it will be the first time anyone's paid to watch me race.

With all this talk about Horner being the upset victory they make it sound like he's got a serious chance of winning. Maybe if it was a 120 mile race with a couple cat.1 climbs he might, but not in 1-3" of wintery mix. First, he's going to have to start in about 50th place since he only has like 4 points but I think if he started in the front row it wouldn't matter either. Unless Horners got some mean technical skills that nobody knows about I can't see him going fast in what we are going to be racing in tomorrow. Maybe I'm wrong but my call is that he is not in the top 15. There, you heard it here first, Horner is non factor for the victory.
I might be a non factor too, but at least I don't have any pressure being a non factor like Horner does! Sweet.

You can listen to the race live HERE!!
Or, Live updates from cyclingnews.live
3pm Eastern is the mens elite start time.

I'm going to hit the trainer for one more hour and call it a year, I'm done training for 2005!

That's it, that's all - Let cyclocross nationals crazyiness begin!
