Ohio Cross Day 1

Quick update from Ohio. Good size field of about 60 with some pretty solid riders as expected. The course was much more technical than last year with more 130 degree turns than I could count. I liked it though, it beats long straights and fits my style better. I had a decent start and rode the frist few laps around 12th before moving up to the Tilford/Leach group and riding 7-9th the last 5 laps. We worked alright together but I didn't do much work since I didn't see us catching anyone and it didn't seem we were getting caught by anyone. Tilford and I came together near the finish on a tight corner and Leach got away as we untangled bars, Steve got me through the sandpit and easily sprinted me for 8th. Pretty happy with 9th and TWO whole UCI points, it's a start and I felt pretty good out there so I'll take what I can get.
Time to load up bikes and go racing again.
