US Cyclocross Nationls - Providence, RI - 8th

The race went really well today, I finished 8th! The course was a mess and there was pretty much only one line to take making it a mostly singletrack course but that was fine with me.
I had a great start and did the first lap in the low teens and then started making up ground. My legs really came around 2,3, and 4 lap and I worked my way up into 8th were I kept it together to the finish. McCormick did catch me on the last lap and I was pretty bummed thinking I'd get 9th but he crashed on the last corner allowing me to sprint the 300 meters to the finish. It was by far my best result of the cross season and considering like 4 of the guys that beat me were, or have been, National champs it made it all the better.

I have to give a really BIG thank you to Renee Callaway of Madcross for helping me out at the start line with my clothing and also for taking care of my bike in the pits. It's pretty hard racing cross flying solo so it was really nice to have someone take my jacket and have more warm clothes at the finish for me. Thanks!

Also, it was cool to ride with Matt Kelly for a few laps - Kurt Refsnider had a great ride too!! Nice to see other Wisco people making the effort to come race especially after breaking your wrist a month ago.

I'll get more posted when I can but I have 1000 miles of driving to do tomorrow and I need my sleep.
Cheers

Congrats on the steller finish, good to see the midwest representing. Trek should give you the hook up for that finish.
